From an early age on the farm in Northumberland, Land Rovers (and lots of other old mechanical tat) have been a big part of my life. I have owned a Series 1, three Series 2s and a 2as, a series 3 and the odd Defender. I currently own an SAS Pink Panther from 1968 that served in Oman and am busy restoring a 1959 4x2, which to be honest is probably as rare.
I now live in the Isle of Man which is ideally suited to the slower pace of life that is part of Series 1 11 111 life.
My best experience was buying the Pinky, a once in a lifetime opportunity as they almost never come up for sale and out of the 72 made there is only a dozen or so left.
My best advice on series ownership is to have patience and the rewards will be many!
